Team Ryan Project
The Team Ryan Project, spearheaded by Unkie’s Seasoning, is dedicated to supporting firefighters and their families in times of need. Through our collective efforts and community involvement, we aim to raise vital funds and provide essential resources, ensuring that those who bravely protect us receive the assistance they deserve. Together, we stand strong for our heroes.
The "Team Ryan Project" was launched in 2021 when my brother, Lt. Ryan McCoy of the Chesapeake Fire Department, was diagnosed with Stage 3 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He began chemotherapy and immunotherapy the following months. Although his Local Union initiated some fundraising efforts for him and his family, it was just a drop in the bucket. Cancer in all forms can be costly. Using Unkie’s Seasoning platform, we were able to raise funds through the sale of fundraising items, donations, and by donating a portion of our sales.
With Ryan currently in remission, we continue to raise funds to support the mission of this project. Donations have been made to firefighters who lost their homes to tornadoes in Kansas, those affected by a fire in Ohio, and multiple firefighters who developed cancer from serving their communities.
Through our collective efforts and community involvement, we aim to raise vital funds, ensuring that those who bravely protect us receive the assistance they deserve. Together, we stand strong for our heroes.
