Ingredients

  • 1 small head of cabbage, shredded or thinly sliced
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb smoked sausage (such as kielbasa or andouille), sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 4-6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes or Coastal Cajun seasoning

Instructions

1. Prepare Ingredients: Slice the cabbage, sausage, and onion. Mince the garlic. Peel and devein the shrimp.

2. Sauté the Sausage: Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage and cook until browned (5-7 minutes). Remove sausage and set aside.

3. Cook the Shrimp: Add another tablespoon of oil to the skillet. Cook shrimp until pink and cooked through (2-3 minutes per side). Remove shrimp and set aside.

4. Sauté the Vegetables: Add the remaining oil and sliced onion to the skillet. Cook for 3-5 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.

5. Cook the Cabbage: Add shredded cabbage and cook, stirring frequently, for 8-10 minutes until tender-crisp.

6. Combine & Season: Return the sausage and shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes or Coastal Cajun seasoning. Stir everything together and heat through.
